Karen L. Peterson, 78, of Tilton, passed away at 1:07 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana.
She was born August 20, 1939, in Danville to Austin and Mildred (Culp) Kimball.
She married Tom Tyler July 2, 1960, in Danville. She later moved to Florida where she met and married Jack Peterson August 20, 1985. He passed away in July, 1988. She moved back to Danville and met Lonnie Deichmiller and made her home with him for over 20 years. She spent her last three years at Danville Care.
She is survived by two daughters, Shelly Botkin of Tilton and Kerry (Rick) Hulse of Gifford; three grandchildren, Morgan (Justin) Leigh, Tony Hulse and Shelby Hulse; two great-grandchildren, Kimberlynn and Jaycen Leigh; a nephew, Steve Kimball; and a cousin, Jack Kimball. She was preceded in death by a brother, Buzz Kimball, and a son-in-law, Ed Botkin.
She enjoyed sewing, flea markets, traveling, music and, most of all, enjoyed her family.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Christway, 618 E. Main St., with Pastor Doug Knapp officiating. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Christway. Entombment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
