June Yeargin, 101, of Georgetown, passed away at 2:18 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2018, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville.
She was born on June 14, 1916, in Danville, the daughter of Fred and Lena Sheets. June was united in marriage to Archie Yeargin on Aug. 12, 1940, he preceded her on Sept. 4, 1986.
Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte (Patrick) Stewart of Saugatuck, Mich., and Sharon Bringleson of Fort Collins, Colo.; four grandchildren, Geno Malusek, Lance Smith, Erik Bringleson and Cheralyn Janus; also great-grandson Wesley Malusek.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, and daughter, Charlene Janus.
June was a graduate of Indiana State University earning a Bachelor's Degree. June lived at North Logan Healthcare in Danville the last six years but prior lived in Georgetown and taught elementary school for many years.
She enjoyed reading books from the library, working crossword puzzles, and watching sports and old time movies on TV. Most of all she enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
A celebration of life funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in McKendree cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be given to the Georgetown Friends Church or Georgetown Public Library.
