Julia Ann Metheney, 80, of McLeansboro, passed away 9:52 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at her home.
She was born March 13, 1936, in McLeansboro, the daughter of Clyde C. and Lena Venable Poore. She married Donald Metheney; he preceded her in death.
She is survived by sons, Mark Eugene Balliet of McLeansboro, William Leo Balliet of Meridian, Miss., and Mark (wife Pam) Metheney of Mt. Vernon; daughers, Diane Linda (husband Bob) Baczik of San Francisco, Patricia Lee Vaughn of Petal, Miss., Teri Lee (husband Mike) Glover of Alabama, Tonya Renea (husband Kerry) Jones of Mt. Vernon and Angela (husband Greg) Jack of Carbondale; brother, Ray (wife Wanda) Poore of Michigan; special beloved friends, Donna Ahlfeld of Benton and Kelly Clark of Benton; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Lee Balliet; and brother, William Dean Poore.
Funeral service were held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 27, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Roger Webb officiating. Interment was at Old Springer Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Visitation was held Thursday, May 26, at Gholson Funeral Home.
She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Eastern Stars.
