Joyce Elizabeth Roesch, 93, of Danville, went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, May 15, at The Church of The Holy Trinity, 308 N. Vermilion, in Danville. Mass will follow at 11 a.m.
Joyce entered this world on Feb. 20, 1924, in Tecumseh, Mich., to Alfred and Bessie (Marsh) Sisson. She attended school in Michigan before finding the love of her life, Donald K. Roesch Sr., whom she married on July 31, 1945. The couple settled in Adrian, Mich. where they had a son, Don Roesch Jr, and moved to Danville several years later for Donald Sr.'s work. In 1988, the two retired and moved to North Fort Myers, Fla., but would later return to Danville in 2009 to be closer to their family.
Joyce could often be found in the kitchen, as she was an amazing cook and baker, and always had a helper, as her son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She enjoyed family get-togethers and was a member of The Church of The Holy Trinity, where she enjoyed the weekly services. Most of all, Joyce loved her husband, and the two were never far from each other's sides.
Joyce leaves behind her husband of over 71 years: Donald Roesch Sr.; a son: Don (Susan) Roesch Jr.; two grandchildren: Lisa (Jim) Depratt and David (Julie) Roesch; five great-grandchildren: Ryan Isenhower, Jacob and Gage Depratt, and Griffin and Addison Roesch; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memories and messages for the family may be left on our website at www.papefuneral.com, or on the Pape Family Funeral Home Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joyce's name to The Church of The Holy Trinity, 308 N. Vermilion St, Danville, IL. 61832.
