John L. Tuggle, 93, of Indianola, went home to be with Jesus at 10:14 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, at Gardenview Manor Nursing Home, Tlton.
John was born and raised in Indianola, living there his entire life until residing at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman. He was born March 18, 1923, to Elvin L. and Jessie W. (Pearman) Tuggle. They preceded him in death, as well as four brothers, Ralph, Ross, Don and Marshall Tuggle; and three sisters, Mildred Dillman, Esther Miles and Eva Grubb.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews and special friend Ray Ingram (deceased) and great-nephew Jim Grubb Jr. who were always there to help John when needed.
He was most proud of his country, as he was a veteran of WWII being stationed in Germany as counterintelligence. John also had worked at the grain elevator in Indianola and had retired from the Georgetown plastics factory.
A celebration of John's life will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West St., Georgetown, with Karl Marsh officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola.
Memorial donations can be given to the Indianola Fire Department. Please join his family in sharing Memories through his tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
