John W. McCoy Jr., 57, of Danville, left this world for Heaven on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017. He was born on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 1960 to John W. Sr. and Barbara Jean (Alexander) McCoy in Danville.
He married his best friend and soulmate, Vicki Dokey on March 21, 1981 at Lincoln United Methodist Church in Danville. She survives. Also surviving are daughters, Shannon McCoy (Bill) of Danville and Lynette McCoy (Jeff) of T of C, N.M.; grandchildren, Christopher W.R. Wyatt, Mercedes R. Mincey, Mackenzie Mincey, Trent Mincey, all of Danville and Rylee Johnson of T of C; sisters, Debbie (Charles) Danner of Vincennes, Ind. and Jackie Fuentes of South Bend, Ind.; gained family: parents, Curt and Sharon Winslow; brothers-in-law, Rick (Darlena) Dokey, Doug (Kathy) Dokey; sisters-in-law, Cindy O'Neil, Johna (Jim) Bolton and Cindy Elder; too many nieces and nephews to list; and special "brothers", Andy (Hope) Bryant, Bill (Teresa) Makemson and more. He loved all of you.
His other loves are our four-legged people: son, Bartholomew and granddaughter, Yakky Doodle.
He was a great friend to anyone that knew him. He would help anyone who needed it.
He was employed at Bryant Industries in Danville. Prior to that, he worked at Fiberteq and KIK, both in Danville.
John loved searching for treasures at flea markets and antique shops, playing cards, slot cars, HO trains, and just gathering with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, several aunts and uncles. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
As per John's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
A celebration gathering will be arranged at a later date. Rortvedt Funeral Services, Danville, is in charge of arrangements.
