Jody Rubenacker, 79, of McLeansboro, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017, at her residence in McLeansboro.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 2, 2017, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Funeral service was held 10 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis with Father Slawomir Ptak officiating. Burial was at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Piopolis.
She was born Feb. 12, 1938, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Wilford Biggerstaff and Ida (Dauby) Biggerstaff. She married Richard Rubenacker on Nov. 22, 1956 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Enfield. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2005.
She was a homemaker and member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis, the "Red Hatter Society" and the Ladies Home Extension. She loved to travel, spend time with grandchildren, watching grandchildren in their sports and bowling and she enjoyed country music and dancing.
She is survived by two sons, Randy Rubenacker and wife Debbie of Dahlgren and Terry Rubenacker and wife Stacy of Dahlgren; daughter-in-law, Carmin (Hunt) Rubenacker of Dahlgren; grandchildren, Rick Rubenacker and wife Emily, Rachel Bender and husband Tim, Robert Rubenacker and wife Juliana, Adam and Megan Rubenacker and Lucendia Adams; great-grandson, Reed Rubenacker; brother, Junior Biggerstaff and wife Sharon of McLeansboro; sister, Patsy Aydt and husband Leo of McLeansboro; special friend, Donnie Donelson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford and Ida Biggerstaff; husband, Richard; and son, Rodney.
Memorials may be made to Rend Lake College Fund and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home.
