GEORGETOWN - JoAnn Boose, 83, of Georgetown passed away at 8:37 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2017, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
She was born Aug. 1, 1933, in Indianola, Ill., to Charles and Eva (Baird) Brant.
She was united in marriage to Jack Boose on May 23, 1958, in Georgetown. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2011.
She is survived by four sons, John Boose of Petersburg, Ill., James Boose of Georgetown, Jay (Nancy) Boose of Georgetown, and Joe (Nicole) Boose of Georgetown; a sister, Dorothy (Bob) Henline of Vista Valley, Calif.; four grandchildren, Shelby (Chris Crowl), Bethany, Nikayla and Jayson Boose, all of Georgetown; and a special niece and nephew, David (Merri Jo) Brant and Janet (Sam) Shank.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three sisters.
JoAnn was a graduate of the Lakeview College of Nursing in Danville and began her career as a registered nurse at Lakeview Hospital. She then became employed with the VA hospital, from which she retired.
She enjoyed puzzles, reading, swimming, bike riding and flowers, especially her geraniums. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren and was active with a group of Lakeview College of Nursing Alumni.
A service to celebrate the life of JoAnn Boose will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Chapel, 200 E. West St., Georgetown. Rev. James Blue will officiate. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, also at Houghton-Leasure in Georgetown.
