Jim McGuire, 57, of Westville, left us suddenly on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at Presence USMC in Danville.
Per his wishes, Jim will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville.
Jim was born Dec. 15, 1958, in Terre Haute, Ind., to Carl and Barbara Jean (Phillips) McGuire.
He attended Danville Grade Schools and Danville High School, graduating in 1977. Jim worked for Danville Mass Transit as the Maintenance Supervisor for over 27 years, and also was owner and operator of McGuire Snow Plowing for almost as long.
Jim loved to take care of people, always putting himself on the back burner, and nothing was more important than his family. He was a NASCAR fan, his favorite being Dale Earnhart.
Jim leaves behind his two sons, Patrick McGuire and Matthew McGuire; three grandchildren, Regan, Ayden and JadeLynn McGuire; his sister, Barbara (Chris) Warren; his longtime fiancé, Luchawna Simmons, and her two children, Johnna and Jeffrey Simmons; and too many close friends to count. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John McGuire.
Messages and memories may be left on our website at www.papefuneral.com, or on the Pape Family Funeral Home Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jim's name to CARA in Tilton.
