Jewel Maxine Keaton, 78, McLeansboro, died 8:25 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was a lab technician and had been employed by Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born March 2, 1936, in Sims, the daughter of William and Bernest (Marshel) Brown. She married Kendall Keaton on June 13, 1970, in Fairfield. He preceded her in death Aug. 8, 2005. She was Protestant. She loved her grandkids, boating and camping. Survivors include two daughters, Pat Gray and Glenna Sutton both of McLeansboro; grandchildren, Dustin Sutton, of Cape Giradeau, Mo., Joseph Sutton and wife Jill of Wentzeville, Mo., Jeffrey Sutton and wife Bethaney of McLeansboro, Brandy and Brad Tedford of McLeansboro, Bethany Clevenger of Chapel Hill, Tenn., and Devan Clevenger and wife Elizabeth of Yulee, Fla.; great-randsons, Cole and Keaton Sutton, Talan, Nash and Brinkley Sutton of McLeansboro and Owen Able of Chapel Hill, Tenn.; one great-granddaughter: Kadence Able of Chapel Hill, Tenn.; two sisters, Velma Webb and husband Gailen of McLeansboro and Helen Miller and husband Frank of Enfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be held at noon on Dec. 10 at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Steve Shoultz officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Veterans Cemetery, McLeansboro. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Dec. 10. Memorials may be made to local chapter of the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home. Harre Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
