Jean Lister went home to be with the Lord at 12:05 a.m. November 13, 2017. She was a patient at Presence Hospital in Danville.
Jean was born December 2, 1928, to Leoma and Donald Heidrick at Lakeview Hospital. She was one of five children. She graduated from Danville High School, and worked as a telephone operator until her marriage.
She married Gerald E. Lister on March 20, 1947.
Jean was a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
After her daughters were grown and out on their own, she worked at Danville Care nursing home in housekeeping and laundry for five years. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and shopping with her girls. She liked to garden and read good books.
She always looked forward to Sunday and going to church. She was a member of Northside Nazarene Church from 1990 to 2012 when it had to close. Then she became a member of Batestown United Methodist Church from 2012 until now.
Jean preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her parents; sister Marcia Crowder; and brother Douglas Heidrick.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Lister and Vicky Lister of Danville, sisters, Mildred Hettsmanburger of Gray, Ga., and Ruth Gutterman of Martin, Tenn.; and several very special nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 17, at Sunset Cemetery in Danville, with pastor Patti Wise officiating.
