Janice Loftus, 64, of Springfield, passed away at 12:04 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center.
Janice was born December 30, 1952 in Stuttgart, Germany, the daughter of Dr. James T. and Rita Weidlocher Neposchlan. She was married to Joseph L. Loftus and he preceded her in death.
Janice retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections after 25 years. She was the Superintendent of Danville Correctional Facilities Industries. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the yard, and having cookouts.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her son, Jon Loftus of Springfield; two grandchildren, Avery and Ava of Springfield; her siblings, Jim Neposchlan (Ken Page), Jeanne (Jim) Farrow, and Jay (Julie) Neposchlan, all of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside Ceremony: 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Roselawn Memorial Park, 1735 South Camp Butler Road, Springfield with Rev. Nicole Cox officiating. The Illinois Department of Corrections Honor Guard will be providing funeral honors.
The family will host a Celebration of Life immediately following the graveside ceremony.
