James "Jimmy" Anderson, 46, of Beardstown, formerly of Danville, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born February 8, 1972, in Danville, the son of Dale and Laverna Sue Drane Anderson.
He married Rebecca Sue Niccum on December 31, 1992, in Jacksonville and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, James Anderson Jr. and Cheyenne Sioux Anderson, both of Meredosia, and Trenton Driver of Beardstown; one grandson, Hunter Hallett of Meredosia; his parents, Dale and Laverna Sue of Meredosia; one sister, Linda (Gene) Hamer of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Daniel (Marie) Anderson of Clayton, N.C.; maternal grandmother, Bertha Colwell of Jacksonville; fiance, Wanda Coy of Beardstown; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Anderson was a 1990 graduate of Danville High School and had currently been employed at JBS in Beardstown for over 26 years.
In his youth, Jimmy was active in Little League baseball, which eventually led him in the path of becoming an umpire. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, bowling, hunting and video gaming with friends. He loved to cook, especially smoking meats and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Family will meet friends Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at a later date.
