Jackie Carlton Campbell, 76, McLeansboro, died 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. Jack was born July 26, 1938, in McLeansboro, the son of Paul and Aileen (Martin) Campbell. A member of the Hopewell Baptist Church in McLeansboro, he graduated from McLeansboro Township High School, Rend Lake Junior College and also attended Southern Illinois University and was a big fan of the McLeansboro Foxes basketball. Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Hughes of Springfield; a sister, Paula Mason and husband Jim of McLeansboro; a granddaughter, Lillian Barnes of Springfield; nephews, Trent Mason of McLeansboro, Trey Mason and wife Jessica of Carmi, Marty Beck of McLeansboro, Marilee Beck of St. Louis and Mark Beck and wife Carmen of McLeansboro; nieces, Celeste Hill of Chicago and Jean Spruell and husband Joe of McLeansboro; a grand-nephew, Paul Spruell of Cedar City, Utah; great-nieces, Ellen Gibbs and husband Larry of McLeansboro and Saylor Mason of Carmi; a great-great-nephew, Cory Skelton and wife Emily of McLeansboro; and a sister-in-law, Delores Campbell of Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sharron Beck and Bettie Hill; a brother, William Campbell; niece, Mary Jo Beck; and nephew Kyle Beck. Funeral Services were held 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at McLeansboro with the Revs. Robert Sefried and Eric Ragan officiating. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Memorials may be made to the Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center in McLeansboro and will be accepted at the funeral Home. Harre Funeral Home of McLeansboro is in charge of all the arrangements.
