Ret. Colonel Jack N. Guthrie, 84, a native of Danville, born Aug. 5, 1932, to Charles and Emma Guthrie, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017, in Frisco, Texas.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon, of 63 years. They were both graduates and high school sweethearts at Danville High School, Class of 1950.
His oldest son, Robin, and wife, Wanda, currently reside in Thornton, Colo. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Carla. His youngest daughter, Valerie, lives in Frisco, Texas. He has five grandchildren.
He was the oldest of four siblings: Carol Farnum, deceased, followed by his younger sister, Rosemary Burmeister and brother, Timothy Guthrie.
Col. Jack Guthrie will be honored at his internment Wednesday, May 24, at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
A one time dedicated donation can be made to "The American Fallen Soldiers Project" in honor of Col. Jack N. Guthrie, U.S. Army.
