Iva's Story

Text size

Iva Foreman traded her earthly wings for her heavenly wings early Sunday, December 31, 2017. She was born on November 20, 1922 in Richmond, Ky.
Iva loved to write letters to all of her family and friends. She loved all kinds of arts, even attending art classes at Danville Area Community College art classes at the age of 69. She also was very passionate about cooking and baking, often baking sweets for her loved ones. Iva also enjoyed gardening so much the Commercial-News had an article on the front page with her in her flower bed.
She was the sweetest woman who had a smile that could light up a room.
Nobody was a stranger to Iva. She would say to do something for someone else every day. She lived the life of a giver, which in turn produced troves of friends, yet she was always perplexed how she, in turn, had too many friends to count, she would say.
Iva lived a life of devout faith in Jesus and professed her love to Jesus to anybody given the opportunity. She often said, "Hard times lead to great moments in your life as long as you keep the faith. It will all be worth it in the end."
She survived by her daughters, Mary Faith Alvey, Judith (Eugene) Campbell, Cheri (Raymond) Huff and countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Dale Harold Foreman.
A Celebration of Life Service will be noon Friday, January 5, 2018, at Life Church, 2105 N. Bowman Ave. in Danville. Officiating will be Pastor Doug. Burial will be in Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-noon Friday at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to Life Church in Danville. Please join Iva's family in sharing memories, photos, and videos on her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
