Helen Rippe, 70, of McLeansboro, passed away 10:24 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at her home. She was born Dec. 23, 1945, in St. Louis, the daughter of Clyde Glen Carver and Elsie Lillian (Ennor) Carver. She married Robert Earl Rippee Jr. She is survived by husband, Robert Rippee of McLeansboro; sons, Burton Harmon Jr. and wife Jerrie of Dupo and David Harmon Sr. and wife Valeria of McLeansboro; daughters, Shelly Beasley and husband Mark of Cahokia, Lisa McKay and husband John of McLeansboro, Kimberly Storey and husband Keith of Dupo, Karen Strole and husband Kevin of McLeansboro, Sherry Phouangmalay and husband Kenny of Granite City, Tammy Rippee of McLeansboro and Brandi Combs and husband Branden of McLeansboro; sisters, Glenda Colclasure of St. Louis and Norma Sumpter of McLeansboro; brothers, John Carver of Palm Desert, Calif., and Daniel Carver of St. Louis; 23 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James, Tom, Bill and Clyde (Rusty); and sisters, Elsie (Sissy) Tullock and Carolyn Colclasure. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Turning Point Church of God with Pastor Leon Hall officiating. Interment will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at Turning Point Church of God in McLeansboro. She was a homemaker. She loved fishing, camping and playing with her children and grandchildren. She was a prior director of the church food pantry. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the food pantry at Turning Point Church of God. Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all arrangements.
