Helen F. Hillard, 75, of Danville, passed away at Kickapoo Campground on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, with her family by her side. Helen was born the daughter of Maxwell and Thelma (Snider) Jones on June 17, 1942, in Georgetown. Helen married Kenneth Hillard on Dec. 4, 1976. Kenneth preceded Helen in death on Dec. 13, 2004.
Helen leaves behind her companion, Eddie Pate, who she has spent her life with for 11 years; two children, James (Penny) Hillard and Teresa (Jeff) Frazier; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don (Melody) Jones and Melvin (Darlene) Jones. Helen will also be missed by her dog, Camper, and several nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Helen was a member of the Southside Nazarene Church. She was a Secretary at the family business, Kensco Plumbing, Heating and Cooling. Helen enjoyed traveling, camping, plastic canvas and knitting. Most of all it was the time she spent with family and friends she enjoyed.
A Celebration of Helen's life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at 2 p.m. Jay Sorrell will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, from 3- 7 p.m.
