Gary Michael Stibbs unexpectedly climbed over the stones in his pass way and left his burdens behind on January 15, 2018.
He was born May 15, 1947. He was raised by his grandparents Walter and Maycel Stibbs in Danville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his wife, Sharron, who was the love of his life.
Gary was a very mechanically inclined person. He was an A.S.E. Certified Master Technician. He worked as an automotive repair technician for many years, and owned his own automotive repair shop.
Anything he set his mind to, he would accomplish, and accomplish very well. He had many hobbies throughout his lifetime. He would excel at each and every one of them, to the point of perfection.
He was an amazing father and role model. He made sacrifices most people cannot even imagine in order to raise his son.
He is survived by his son, Garrett Michael Stibbs, and his granddaughter, Kierstyn Aubrey Stibbs, both of Oakwood, Ill., and his sister, Nancy (Jack) Brown of Creswell, Ore.
He is and will be deeply missed by many lifelong friends in Illinois and Alabama. He loved the time he had with Sharron traveling and on the water, boating, swimming and fishing in Alabama.
Rortvedt Funeral Services assisted the family. Cremation rites have been accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
