Gary Karcher, 76, of Dahlgren, died 5:05 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2016, at his residence.
he was born April 29, 1940, in Wayne City, the son of Clements Otto Karcher and Thelma (Bailey) Karcher. He married Vickie Sue (Musgrave) on Sept. 1, 1962; she survives in Dahlgren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Mark Karcher and wife Paula of Wayne City and Michael Karcher and wife Miranda of Dahlgren; two daughters, Jackie Rubenacker and husband Alan of Dahlgren and Julie Rudloff and husband Danny of DuQuoin; grandchildren, Devin, Dana and Dani Rubenacker, Josh and Ashley Karcher, Jessi Rudloff and Alyssa and Aiden Karcher; and a great-grandchild, Leland Paul Rubenacker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry "Toots" Karcher and sisters Jolene Schuster and Darlene Karcher.
He was a farmer. He enjoyed taking care of cows and loved the outdoors.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, at Harre Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial was at Crouch Cemetery in Belle Prairie.
Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Crouch Cemetery Fund or to Hopewell Church and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home.
Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, is in charge of arrangements.
