Fay Morris, 88, formerly of Dahlgren, passed away at her home on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at 11:57 p.m. She was born on March 27, 1926, in McLeansboro, the daughter of John T. Erkmann and Anna E. (Heady) Erkmann. She married Donald J. Morris in March 1955, in Aden. Survivors include two daughters, Flossie Webb and husband Ron of Wayne City and Dorothy Smith and friend Rob Schuster of McLeansboro; one son, Wayne Morris and wife Donna of Dahlgren; five grandchildren, Marty Webb and wife Alicia of McLeansboro, Ryan Webb and wife Heather of Chilicothe, Diane Todd and husband Jay of Johnston City, Dwayne Smith and wife Adrea of Wayne City and Lyndi Davis and husband Kelton of Waterloo; 11 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Landon, Garrett, Tinlea, Darwin, Annalea, Austin, Hayden, Wendell, Quincy and Elizabeth; one sister, Opal Hall of Wayne City; one sister-in-law, Eula Faye Erkmann of Nixa, Mo.; and one brother-in-law, Joe Morris and wife Mary Ann of McLeansboro. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; two grandchildren, Cindi Webb and Matt Lueke; and son-in-law, Darrell Smith. She was a homemaker. She attended the First United Methodist Church in McLeansboro. She loved to garden and was an original member of the Hamilton County Home Extension Unit. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robin Lyons officiating. The visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial was held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research and the Hamilton Memorial Hospital Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home. Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro was in charge of all of the arrangements.
