CATLIN - Evelyn Kruzich, 96, of Catlin, longtime local nurse, passed away at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Presence USMC in Danville.
She was born December 22, 1921. in Danville, Ill., to Owen and Ethel Cronkhite Roderick.
Evelyn married Pete Kruzich on October 14, 1944, in Chicago. He passed away July 31, 2006.
Survivors include: a son, Jack (Gina) Kruzich of Villa Park, Ill.; a sister: Boots (Charles) Bell of Danville, Ill.; a grandson, Andrew (Celeste) Kruzich of Kalispell, Mont.; two great-grandsons, Gabriel Kruzich and Ethaniel Kruzich of Kalispell, Mont. Evelyn was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Jean (Paul) Dobbles.
Evelyn worked briefly for R&S Printing in Danville. She graduated St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and worked for Dr. Fritz Koenig in Catlin for 21 years.
Evelyn was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville and a life member of the Catlin Historical Society.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville with Father Timothy Sauppe to officiate. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville. Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Robison Chapel in Catlin with Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
