Ethel Bossoloni

July 10, 1922 - October 07, 2018

Ethel "Et" Mae Bossoloni, 96, of Westville, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, with her nieces by her side.
She was born July 10, 1922, in Westville, the daughter of William and Mae (Welch) Bossoloni.
Ethel graduated from Westville High School, the class of 1940. She was a bookkeeper from the age of 18 to 75 for Win C. Smith in Danville.
She is survived by her sister, Elaine Bonebrake; her nieces and nephews, Jackie (Roger) Gruner, Dominick Quartier, Scott (Kathe) Quartier, Charla (George Chiaramello) Quartier, Rockford (Gail) Draper, Lee (Cindy) Draper, Mana (Bruce) Lesko, Mira (Bobby) Trosper, Meri (Johnny) Hill, Nora Greene, Mark Batrich; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Stephen Leyh, Shaun (Nancy) Trosper, Michelle (Justin) Davis, Wade (Cheryl Taylor) Trosper, April Farrell, Angela Hill; along with many others. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Earl Bossoloni; her sisters, Eunice Quartier, Elnora Draper, Elizabeth Batrich; and nephews, Earl Quartier, Bill Shuey and Herb Shuey.
Ethel enjoyed playing poker machines, solitaire, watching the Game Show Network and having the occasional martini.
Although Ethel had no biological children of her own, she took pride in raising many, especially her nieces, Michelle and April, who will miss her dearly. She was an amazing cook, and if you left her house hungry that was your fault, as there was always plenty to eat. Everyone that knew Et was aware she had an open-door policy. Whether you needed a place to stay, a home-cooked meal or a cocktail and chat, you could always count on Et.
Ethel cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her time spent with her great-great-nephews and niece, Parker, Bryer, Hayden, Drew, Kyven, Syver and Zennia. Ethel will be terribly missed by all who knew her. She touched many hearts.
"A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck, that's how much I love you."
A celebration of Et's life will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 11, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday prior to her service at the funeral home.
