Essie Williams, 94, of Danville, passed this life at his residence on July 22, 2017. He was born Oct. 27, 1922, in Hughes Ark., the son of Eugene and Luella Jackson Williams.
Essie Retired from the City of Danville and was the owner of Ebony Farms. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching westerns and sitting outside in the shade with his wife and cat, Marley.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Jessie Mae Williams; his son, Robert B. (Camille) Williams; four granddaughters; four great-granddaughters; two great-great-grandsons; two sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded by his daughter, Doris J. Smith; three brothers; and four sisters.
A Home Going service will commence at 12 noon Monday, July 31, at Mt. Zion Word of Life, 1535 E. Fairchild. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating: Pastor Charles Hargrove. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Leek & Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
