Edward A. Koehler, 66, of Bluford, Illinois passed away at 2:02 P.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born Wednesday, March 15, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to parents, Kenneth and Helen (Haut) Koehler. He married Tish (Savage) Koehler on August 17, 2005 in Mount Vernon. Edd and Tish were together for 25 years and were blessed with 11 years of marriage.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Pastor David Mishler officiating.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Edward is survived by his wife, Tish Koehler of Bluford, Illinois; sisters, Linda Spell of Dix, Illinois, Nancy Magnuson and husband, Robert of Algonquin, Illinois, Char Rosa and husband, Vic of Bonnie, Illinois, and Tina Stanke of Elks Grove Village, Illinois; mother-in-law, Letitia Savage of Oak Forest, Florida; sisters-in-law, Linda Durkin of Venice, Florida and Marye Greenys of Oak Forest, Illinois; brother-in-law, John Savage of Northport, Florida; and his treasured cats, Pee Wee, Little G, Missy, Frosty, and Freckles. Edward is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Marvin Spell, Jr.; father-in-law, John Savage; and sister-in-law, Tina Barrera.
Edd worked for Grand Tire and Auto in Chicago. He later worked as a bus driver for Bethel School and operated Tropical Sno until his health started to fail. Edd enjoyed boating and camping, especially at Fox River Recreation. He was a Chicago Cubs fan and was so glad to see them win the World Series. Edd had a great personality and could always be found whistling. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Edd was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him
