Dorothy "Jean"'s Story
Dorothy "Jean" (Pashe) Cundiff, 86, was received into her heavenly home on July 18, 2017, at her home in Oakwood.
Jean was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Danville, the daughter of Walter and Jesse (Pate) Pashe.
She married the love of her life, Dale Jean Cundiff on Oct. 30, 1948, in Danville. He survives.
Jean is also survived by three sons, Michael (Jackie) Cundiff, of Oakwood; Richard (Pamela) Cundiff, of Lilburn, Ga. and Carey (Joni) Cundiff, of Oakwood; a daughter, Cathy Feldman, of Tuscola; seven grandchildren, Shannon (Josef "Bean") Hohn, of Oakwood, Libby Hatchel, of Champaign, Dustin Hatchel, of Tuscola, Erin Cundiff and Kaitlyn Cundiff, both of Lilburn, Ga., Summer (Aaron) Farris, and Jordan (Amber) Cundiff, both of Danville; 10 great-grandchildren, Giles (Lindsay) Hohn, of Fort Collins, Colo., Meghan (Whitney) Lacks, of Winterville, N.C., Travis (Allison) Hohn, Kenny Hohn, Andy Hohn, all of Oakwood, Brayden Hatchel, of Humboldt, Brooklyn Farris, London Farris, Spencer Cundiff, and Maylene "Mimi" Cundiff, all of Danville; and two great-great-grandchildren, Magnolia "Nola" Lacks, of Winterville, N.C., and Brantley Hohn of Oakwood; one sister, Patty (Ron) Turner and one brother-in-law, Wayne Birge, both of Danville; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Pashe; two sisters, Marge Birge and Eleanor Pashe; two granddaughters, Julie (Cundiff) Hughes and Rachael Ann Cundiff; a great-grandson, Kyle Hughes; and a great-granddaughter, Brynlee Farris.
Jean and her husband enjoyed 28 years every winter in Florida with her many friends golfing, playing cards, and dancing. She loved to read, sew and crochet, and was an excellent cook. She was a member of Vermilion Heights Christian Church.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, at Vermilion Heights Christian Church immediately followed by a celebration of Jean's life, officiated by Rod Godley.
