Dora's Story

Dora M. Jacobson, 91, of Danville, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018.
Visitation will be 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 22, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville. Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Pape's with Pastor Matt Stump officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Corner Cemetery.
Dora was born November 12, 1926, to Glen and Nellie Kirkpatrick.
She married Richard "Jake" Jacobson on August 17, 1946, and shared 60 years of marriage until his passing in 2006.
Survivors include daughter Patricia (John) Chandler; grandson, Daniel S. (Sandra) Chandler; sister, Mildred Huffman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jake; brother, Ray Kirkpatrick; and sister, Lucile Engel.
Dora graduated from Bismarck High School, and worked as a secretary in Danville. After her marriage to Jake, they moved to Horton, Kan., and farmed for about 5 years. They then moved back to the Bismarck area to farm.
After their retirement from farming, they enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada. She was very active Bismarck Methodist Church. She was a member for years of Salty Sam's Club and attended many jamborees.
