Mrs. Donna Kay Offutt (née Blair) passed away peacefully September 28, 2017, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill., at the age of 64.
Donna is survived by her husband, Paul; mother, Rachel Blair (Wilson) of Paris, Ill.; her brothers, Scott (Judy) Blair, Randy (Tanya) Blair also of Paris; brother-in-law, Michael (Beth) Offutt of Bismarck; and her sister, Cyndi (Paul) Ward of Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Don Blair; her father-in-law, Everett Offutt; and her mother-in-law, Wilma Offutt.
Donna was born Oct. 25, 1952, in Paris, Ill. She was a graduate of Paris High School and Paris Beauty School. After graduating, Donna moved to Danville, where she began working as a hairdresser and where she met her husband, Paul. They were married in Paris on May 3, 1975.
Donna and Paul shared 42 years together as husband and wife and as owners of their businesses Offutt Construction, later re-named Offutt Development, and Security Ventures. The Offutts had recently become involved as partners of the Autumn Fields Assisted Living Communities of Hoopeston, Savoy and Tilton, Illinois.
Donna in her own right was responsible for opening and managing both the Danville and Champaign Pier One stores and the Danville TCBY. Everyone who knew Donna knew her to be hard working, never idle and dedicated to the community in which she lived.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt gratitude to their many friends, employees, along with all of Donna's doctors and their staffs for their limitless support and kindness during Donna's illness.
As per Donna's wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. The entombment at Sunset Memorial Park will be private.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please donate in Donna's memory to either the Danville Carle Cancer Center, 2300 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61832 or to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation http://giving.clevelandclinic.org/giving/honor-memorial-giving.
