Donna Kay Lager, 57, formerly of McLeansboro, passed away at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at 4 p.m. She was a factory worker and was previously employed by Celebrity and Crownline Boat Factories. She was born on Aug, 4, 1957, in St. Louis, the daughter of Jay Garner and Mary Elizabeth (Allen) Garner. She married Phillip Eugene Lager in 1994, at her home in Dale. Survivors include her husband, Phillip Lager, of McLeansboro; two brothers, Jay Garner of Marion and Artie Garner of West Frankfort; four sisters, Rosemary Joplin, Lynn Parrot, Betsy Winniger and Cathy Williams, all of West Frankfort; one sister-n-law, Jeanette Lager of Muddy; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. She attended Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in McLeansboro. She loved to play with her dogs. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Digby Hill Cemetery in Dale with the burial following. The Rev. Robert Sefried officiated the service. Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro were in charge of all of the arrangements.
