Donald Stevens Howard, 89, of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., passed away at 11 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2017, at his residence with his family by his side.
Don was born May 30, 1928, in Westville, Ill., the son of Henry and Iva Howard.
Surviving family include his wife of 64 years, Martha, Port Saint Lucie; his son, Joseph, Port Saint Lucie; daughter, Linda, Melrose Park; four grandsons, Ryan and Matthew Garza, Evan and Jayden Howard.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Madeline White; brothers Gene, Robert and Paul.
Don graduated from Westville High School in 1947. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He worked as an accountant at Inland Supply in Danville and Chicago for many years, and retired to Florida.
He was an avid Cubs fan, and would go to see them play in Miami each year with his son and grandsons.
Per Don's request, there were no services.
