FAIRMOUNT - Don Wade, 83, of Fairmount, passed away at 7:06 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2019, at his home.
He was born March 4, 1936, in Woodland, Ill., to Owen and Bonnie Mae Clester Wade.
Don married Shirley Parks, and they later divorced.
Survivors include three sons, David (Kelly) Wade of Bloomington, Ill., Rick (Crystal) Wade of Westville, Ill., and Steven Wade of Fairmount; a daughter, Diana Davis of Tilton; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters.
Don worked for over 30 years for Material Service in Fairmount.
He enjoyed gambling and playing the machines, especially at Julee's. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar in his earlier years. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union, and enjoyed patrolling Fairmount, and especially loved his dog Billy.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Friday at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Rev. Matt Filicsky to officiate. Burial in GAR Cemetery at Homer. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Robison Chapel.

I remember many funny stories that would make me laugh and cheer me up. He always had a smile on his face. And when he spoke to others he always conveyed the love for his children and Shirley.
