Dewayne Laughard, 56, of Dale, died 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at his home. He was retired after working 20 years at the General Tire plant in Mt. Vernon. Dewayne was born Aug. 31, 1958, the son of George and Louise (Harris) Laughard in Fairfield. He was a member of Old Sharon Baptist Church near Norris City. Survivors include two sons, Heath Dewayne Laughard and wife Tracy of Eldorado and Michael Keith Laughard and fiancé Jaclyn Braddock of Springerton; a daughter, Laci Webb and husband Brandon of McLeansboro; a brother, Bobby Laughard of McLeansboro; two sisters, Norma Laughard of McLeansboro and Kathy Ritchey of McLeansboro; grandchildren, Eryn and Kaiden Laughard and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Laughard. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Jerry Peyton officiating with burial in Brush Harbor Cemetery near McLeansboro. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Gholson Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.
