NOBLESVILLE, Ind. - Deveril Church, 98, formerly of Westfield and Ambia, Ind., passed away at 8:22 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at River Walk Commons, Noblesville.
Deveril was born Aug. 10, 1919, in Brooklyn, Ill., the daughter of Richard J. and Floy E. Richardson Wroughton. Deveril married Herman Church Oct. 21, 1941, in Kankakee, Ill. The wedding was officiated by Deveril's father, the Rev. Richard Wroughton. Herman passed away Jan. 27, 2015. Survivors include one son, Ronald K. (Jean) Church of Sebring, Fla.; one daughter, Janet (Brian) of Arcadia, Ind.; three grandchildren, Rick Church, Julie (Kevin) Parker and Sarah Daily; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Spray, Emily Spray and Josie Spray. She was also preceded in death by one half-brother and one half-sister, and twin infant granddaughters.
Deveril enjoyed traveling, swimming, fishing and playing euchre. She loved her family and was a member of the Ambia Methodist Church and Grace Church in Noblesville.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Robison Chapel in Catlin, officiated by her son-in-law Pastor Brian Daily. Burial will follow in OakRidge Cemetery in Catlin. Visitation is from 10 a.m. till service time on Wednesday at Robison Chapel. Memorials to the Catlin Historical Society or Grace Church of Noblesville in her memory.
