Delores J. Engel, 82 of Danville, left us peacefully Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville, with Pastor Michael Heidel officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior. Following services, Delores will be laid to rest next to her husband at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Delores was born August 5, 1935, in Muncie, Ill. Delores married Earl Engel on July 12, 1951, and they shared 49 years together before his passing in November of 1999.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed giving to her family, and loved them each unconditionally. Delores also babysat for many children in her home throughout the years, sharing her love with many others.
She enjoyed bowling, family camping trips, watching television, and helping to raise her grandchildren. Delores was an amazing cook who shared her love of making noodles and making different recipes with her children and grandchildren.
Delores leaves behind two sons, Carl (Patricia) Engel and Ray Engel; three daughters, Karen Engel-Farris, Sara (Tom) Engel-Tucker and Melanie (Jeff) Engel-Toms; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Earl; and seven brothers and sisters.
