Delorah "De"'s Story
CATLIN - Delorah "De" Kay Denton, 62, of Catlin passed away at 11:20 p.m. March 1, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
De was born Nov. 18, 1955, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Fegett) Hatfield in Danville. She married Vernie Denton on May 29, 1992, in Danville and he survives.
Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Hatfield of Hillery; her husband, Vernie Denton of Catlin; two daughters, Stephanie (Robert) Watson of Danville and Missy (Michael) Packard of Bismarck; one step-daughter, Amanda Noel of Westville; one step-son, Thomas Alexander of Mississippi; one brother, Raymond Hatfield, Jr. of Hillery; one sister, Diane (Ted) Treadway of Westville; eight grandchildren, Caleb, Chelsea, Landen, Loghan, Camisha, DeQuan, Tatyanna, and Quintavious; as well as several aunts, nieces and nephews.
De is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Hatfield.
De worked at Walgreens Accounting for more than 32 years. De and her husband were members of the Fairview Sportsmans Club and enjoyed spending her free time with her grandchildren, planting flowers, enjoying the sun, playing pool and dancing.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held at from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 N. Vermilion Street Danville. Per Delorah's wishes cremation rites will be accorded following visitation.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society in memory of Delorah.
