LAFAYETTE, Ind. - David Eugene Martin, 70, formerly of Homer, Ill., Covington, Attica and West Lafayette, Ind., passed away at 2:19 p.m. EST Sunday, February 25, 2018, in Rosewalk Village, Lafayette.
David was born in Lakeview Hospital, Danville, Ill., on March 25, 1947. He was the son of the late Henry Wilson and Ruby Ruth (Tuggle) Martin.
He graduated from the Indiana Academy in Cicero, Ind., in 1966. He later graduated from the Decatur, Ill., Barber College in 1968.
David worked as a barber in the Dave Riegle Barbershop and later in the VA hospital, both in Danville, Ill.
He was a member first at Seventh Day Adventist Church in Danville, and later at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in West Lafayette.
He has resided the past 17 years at the Villas in West Lafayette before going to Rosewalk.
David married Judith Holford on April 1, 2006, in Tippecanoe Villa in West Lafayette. She was residing with him in Rosewalk.
He leaves behind his wife, Judith, of 12 years; two stepdaughters, Amy (Mark) Fields, Mulberry, and Susan (Jeff) Ray, Portage; two stepsons, Randy Jones, Brownsburg, and David (Julie) Cunningham, Michigan City; a sister, Carol Sue (Tom) Gohn, Richmond Hill, Ga.; a niece, Melissa (Tony) Toucheck, and a great-niece, Kaelyn Toucheck, both of Beavercreek, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, February 28, from 11 a.m. EST until service time at 1 p.m. EST with Pastor Artem Dmytriyev officiating. Following his cremation, he will be inurned in Calvary Cemetery in Portage, Ind.
