Darlene Dodson, 61, of Covington, Ind., passed away November 21, 2017, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born May 24, 1956, in Danville, Ill., the daughter of Harry William and Ella Lindquist.
Darlene married Ernie Dodson, and they spent 40 wonderful years together.
She will be deeply missed by her mother, Ella Lindquist; husband, Ernie Dodson; sons, Jerry Lindquist of Danville, Ill., and Harry William Lindquist Jr. of Osceola, Ind.; siblings, George Lindquist, Harry Earl Lindquist, Thomas Church, Spring Noah, Marie Huff, Scott Lindquist, Tommy Huff Jr.; and three grandchildren.
Darlene was preceded in death by her father and siblings, April Church, Bob Huff and John Lindquist.
Darlene worked as a cook at Vickery's and Benjamin's for several years before starting to waitress. She also worked at Casey's in Covington as a cashier for the last eight years.
Darlene was quite the decorative pig collector, amassing over 300 pig collectibles. She did Sudoku puzzles daily and loved cooking, quilting when she was able and vacationing to Gatlinburg, Tenn., to see the Great Smoky Mountains. Darlene and Ernie traveled there for the last 13 years because they loved it so much.
A visitation for Darlene will be 4-7 p.m. EST Monday, November 27, at Sunset's Covington Chapel, 420 3rd St. Covington, IN 47932. Cremation rites will follow at a later date.
