She was homeschooled all her life and loved it. Being home meant she could be with her animals all day. She wanted to turn the family farm into an animal rescue shelter. She had more compassion than anyone her family knows. She was known for her smile and happy disposition. She loved being outside playing with her friends Andrea, Thea, Gabby, Quenton and Felicia. She loved jumping off the barn roof, swimming in the creek near the bluffs, hitting the wiffle ball with her daddy and having him push her on the swing in the front yard. Her daddy called her his little sunshine. We know she is in heaven playing with her beloved dog, Rosie. Claire touched hundreds of lives in her 13 years. She will be greatly missed! For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Centralia Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, IL 62864.
