Christina's Story

Christina Sue "Tina" Howlett passed away April 25, 2017, at home.
She was born to George and Margaret "Peggy" Howlett at Lakeview Hospital in Danville on Nov. 11, 1948.
Tina had RH and cerebral palsy at birth. She attended kindergarten and schools in Georgetown and was a weaver at Hooton Handicap School. She also won medals in the Special Olympics. She loved NASCAR racing and especially Dale Earnhart Jr.
Surviving are her mother, Peggy, and brother Michael (Linda); her cousins, Craig (Amy) Schmoyer of California, Brad (Jan) and Kevin (Donna) Schmoyer of Pennsylvania; two nieces, Kelly Jo Knol, Kelly (Ray) Marones; three great-nephews, Justin Marones, Logan and Wyatt Knol; and a great-niece Evalyn Knol.
She was preceded in death by her father, George; aunt Doris (Bill) Schmoyer; and also by her grandparents.
A celebration of life for Tina will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville. Jan Reeder will be officiating. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Georgetown Cemetery.
