Cheryl Kay Hoover, 65, of McLeansboro, died 11:01 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2015, at the emergency room of Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born Sep. 13, 1949, in Eldorado, the daughter of Hubert “Tige” Bybee and Marie Certain Bybee. She married Edgar Hoover. She is survived by a son, Phillip Hoover and wife Julie of Benton; two daughters, Paula Weichinger and husband Carl of Macedonia and Susan Fowler and husband John of McLeansboro; a grandson, Tim Hoover and wife Alex; a granddaughter, Pat Weichinger; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Hoover; and two brothers, Darrell Ray Bybee of Creal Springs and Pearce Choisser Bybee of Winter Haven, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Hubert Wayne Bybee; and three sisters, Nina Sue Eblen, Ina Lou Sellers and Jeana Marie Johnson. She was a retired cook and homemaker. Graveside services were held 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, at Smith Cemetery near Dale with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. The visitation was held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home. Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all of the arrangements.
