Charles's Story

Charles Abner Davis, 67, of Danville, passed this life Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 at his residence. He was born March 20, 1949, in Danville. Charles was the son of Tyree Quincy and Lillian Parks Davis Sr.
He was a graduate of Danville High School, an avid sports fan, car collector and car enthusiast. Danville has been his home after a tour of duty in the Air Force. Charles retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory a son, Charles Nathan Davis and two step-daughters, Marcie Fultz and Dionne Webster; three brothers, MacCuerey Martin of Berkeley, Calif., Tyree, George and Cornell Davis of Danville; and four sisters, Suzanne Hall of Oakland, Calif., Annette Evans of Pine Bluff, Ark., Barbara Neil of Chesapeake, Va. and Theresa Cunningham of Danville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will commence at 12 Noon Monday, Feb. 27, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Visitation will also be from 12-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at Leek & Sons with the family present from 3-4 p.m. Officiating: Pastor George Dowell. Interment will be at Danville National Cemetery.
