TILTON - Carol "Joan" High, 82, of Tilton, passed away at 9 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2019, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville.
Joan was born on Sept. 25, 1936, in Danville, the daughter of John Tanner and Mary Elizabeth Goble Stine. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Tharp of Georgetown; a sister, Norma Rayney; four grandchildren, Amanda Long of St. Joseph, Blake (Sommer) Frazier of Oakwood, Karha (Eric) Rosson of Danville, and Joel Frazier of Taylorville; nine great-grandchildren, Nick Hedges of Charleston, Dylan Washkowiak of Catlin, Landon Frazier of Danville, McKenna Rosson of Danville, Maci Long of Bismarck, Weston Frazier of Oakwood, Peyton Frazier of Oakwood, Kaiden Hazel of North Carolina, and Christopher Hazel of North Carolina; and her best friend, Ruby Montgerard of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Vicki Frazier; and two brothers, Arnold Goble and Donald Stine.
Joan worked as a dietician at the Vermilion Shelter and later worked in the laundry at Vermilion Manor. She was a majorette in high school and was a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts as well as a member of the Civil Defense. She enjoyed traveling to Canada, going out to eat, and playing Bingo.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Robison Chapel in Catlin with Pastor James Blue officiating. Burial in Oakhill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Tuesday before the services at Robison Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. On-line condolences at www.robisonchapel.com.
