Carl "Andy" Cunningham, 78, of Muncie, Ill., passed away November 21, 2017 at Amber Glen Care Center in Urbana.
He was born July 26, 1939 in Muncie, the son of Samuel and Harriet (Wray) Cunningham. He married and later divorced Nancy King.
Andy will be deeply missed by his children, Mike Cunningham of Alvin, Ill., and Julie Cunningham of Danville, Ill.; grandchildren, Randi (Scott) Potter of St. Joseph, Ill., Steven Cunningham of Rossville, Ill., and Travis Cunningham of Alvin, Ill.; great-grandson, Evan Potter; and four siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
Andy served in the United States Army, and worked as an operating engineer for Local 841 until retirement at age 65.
He never knew a stranger and was always interacting with friends at auctions or the I&I Tractor Club in Penfield. Andy enjoyed spending time in his shop restoring tractors, working on machinery and storytelling. He loved his little buddy and grandson Evan very much.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the city of Muncie for all the support and kind words through this time.
A celebration of life graveside service for Andy will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 24, at Stearns Cemetery in Muncie-Fithian, with Pastor Dave Garver officiating. There will be a memorial service at Muncie Baptist Church immediately following the graveside rites.
