Arthur Robert Webber, 81, of Dahlgren, passed away 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at his residence
Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Harre Funeral Home, Dahlgren.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, Harre Funeral Home, Dahlgren. Graveside Military Rites was provided by American Legion Post 106 and Military Honor Team of Marion. The Rev. Steve Shoultz and the Rev. Chris McCann officiated. Burial was at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Dahlgren.
He was born Feb. 20, 1935, in Dahlgren, the son of August Robert Webber and Audrey (Cook) Webber. He married Christine M. McCormick on Feb. 20, 2002, in Morganfield, Ky.
He worked for the State Police and worked out of Carmi District 19 for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany and was a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church - McLeansboro. Art loved to hunt, ride 4-wheelers/motorcycles but especially loved playing with grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, "Tina" Webber of Dahlgren; son, Michael Webber of Dahlgren; daughter, Kim Brown and husband Robert of Mt. Vernon; stepson, Mike Plasters and wife Lori of Collinsville; grandsons, Zachary Jines, Jake Jines, Blake Brown and Justin Plasters; two brothers, Ronnie Webber and wife Louise of Mt. Vernon and Bill Webber and wife Mary of Dahlgren; three sisters, Marilyn Smith of Woodstock, Ga., Wilma Cross and husband "P.E." of Dahlgren and Nancy Herzing and husband Jim of Woodlawn; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home .
Harre Funeral Home, Dahlgren, is in charge of arrangements.
