Anne Mary Swartz, 95, of McLeansboro, died 8:02 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at McLeansboro Health Care and Rehab Center. She was a homemaker and also worked as a secretary employed by Parke Davis Drug Company. She was a member of St. Clement’s Catholic Church in McLeansboro. Anne was born June 8, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Kandra) Papsun in Eldorado. She married Joseph T. Swartz on June 19, 1948, in Nanticoke, Pa.; Joseph passed away on May 7, 2010. Survivors include four daughters, Teresa J. Mitchell and husband Tony of McLeansboro, Patricia Griffin and husband Dan of Leesburg, Ga., Susan Horton and husband Dan of Carmi and Jo Anne Dauby and husband Gary of Powder Springs, Ga.; a son, Joseph Swartz and wife Susan of Jacksonsville, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Paige and Ali Swartz, Robert Griffin, Jeffery and Alex Dauby, Christa and Kyle Mitchell, two step grandchildren, Nathan Griffin and wife Deanna, Brent Griffin and wife Kelly; and four step great-grandchildren, Maggie, Max, Gavin and Brantley Griffin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; brother, Mike Papsun; and sisters, Mary Swartz and Mary Papsun. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at St. Clement’s Catholic Church in McLeansboro with Father Slawomir Ptak officiating. Burial will be at St. Clement’s Cemetery at McLeansboro. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 29, at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Clement’s Catholic Church Annex and will be accepted at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, which is in charge of all arrangements.
