FAIRMOUNT - Angie I. Lamb, 88, of Fairmount, went to be with her Lord and beloved husband Archie at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
She was born March 28, 1928, in Villa Grove, Ill., to Coleman and Grace Watkins Kindred. There were 10 children: seven boys and three girls.
Angie married Archie L. Lamb Oct. 7, 1943, in Tuscola, Ill. He preceded her in death Nov. 24, 1998. Survivors include three sons: Richard (Shirley) Lamb of Catlin, Raymond (Donna) Lamb of Tuscola, and David (Alice) Lamb of Rolla, Mo.; one daughter, Debra (Harl) Miller of Indianola; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, that she loved with all her heart; one sister, Phyllis of Wilson of Urbana; and one brother, Bobby Kindred of Dana Point, Calif.. She was also preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Isabelle Faith.
Her favorite possessions were the many photographs of her grandchildren that graced the walls of her home. Angie's favorite song and motto of her life was "Count Your Blessings". She leaves this legacy to her children and grandchildren that there is always something to be thankful for. She worked at General Electric in Danville for 23 years and was a member of Faith Church in Fairmount. Angie enjoyed traveling, reading Christian books, visiting with friends, playing cards and games with her family, where she usually won. Everyone was always welcome at Angie's house.
The family is grateful to Dr. Rowitz, the seventh floor nurses at Carle, and staff of Colonial Manor, as well as Fairmount Rescue for their care.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Friday at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Craig Roller and Steve Lamb to officiate. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Memorials to Fairmount Rescue Squad. On-line condolences at www.robisonchapel.com.
