Alta Lou Larson


Danville, Illinois - Alta Lou Larson, 95, of Danville, formerly of Indianola, passed away at 3:15 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at her home in Autumn Fields in Tilton.
Alta Lou was born November 19, 1923 in Danville, to Claude & Hazel Worthington McCallister. Alta Lou married Donald Larson November 26, 1970. He preceded her in death May 12, 2000. Survivors include: 1 son: Jim (Sheryll) Craig; 1 granddaughter Erin Craig; 1 grandson: Curtis (Lacey) Craig; 2 great-grandchildren: Brecken Craig, Cora Craig; 4 step-children: Mike (Kathy) Larson, Melinda Mathews, Melissa (Tony) Edington, and Melanie Earl; 9 step grandchildren: Joe (Tara) Larson, Sarah (Greg) McLaughlin, Erika Mathews, Blake Mathews, Megan Hale, Andy (Colleen) Edington, Julie ( Colton) McCarty, Johnathan Earl, and Jeffrey Earl; and 7 step great-grandchildren.
Alta Lou graduated from Danville High School in 1941 and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. Special "thanks" to the staff of Autumn Fields for the love & care shown to her since she made it her home in January of this year.
Funeral service 6 pm Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Chris Lawler will officiate. Private family burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola. Visitation is from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday at Robison Chapel. Memorials to the Woodlawn Cemetery Association, in care of Robison Chapel. Online condolences at

Was sorry to hear of Alta's passing away. I am glad I got to meet her while at Autumn Fields. She was in good care there. Just cherish your good memories. Keeping you all in prayers.

I got to know Alta through Melissa Edington years ago and bought Avon from her,very nice lady,Hugs and Prayers to all the family,she will be missed .
