Alice's Story

Alice L. Spencer, 78, of Danville passed away on April 11, 2018.
She was born September 13, 1939, in Goreville, Ill., the daughter of Samuel and Lula (Davis) Black.
She married Ray Spencer on September 24, 1966. He preceded her in death.
Alice will be deeply missed by son, Dwayne (Angela) Spencer; sister, Orpha Lee Sullivan; grandchildren, David Nibbe, Aystin Spencer and Zaqure Spencer; step-grandchildren, Stephanie Attebery and Charles Elijah (Rolland) Norrell; special nieces and nephews, Daniel Spencer, John (Stephanie) Kerst, Marcella Havenar, Angie Barbaras; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and six siblings.
Alice loved to sew, watch TV shows, listen to gospel music, go shopping and visit with friends and family.
Alice was a very caring person and loved to be well prepared for life's journeys. She was always very proper and aware of her self-image. Alice was a member of Homer New Life Church.
A celebration of life graveside service for Alice will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Oakhill Cemetery in Danville. She will be laid to rest after the services.
