Alice's Story

Text size

Alice(Neal) Berry, 78, died peacefully surrounded by family at Promise Hospital in Oxford, Fla., on Oct. 31. She was born to Harvey and Anna (Davis) Neal in Danville.
She was survived by three children, Scott (Donna) Jordan of Oakville, Mo., Danny Jordan (Darla) Wildwood, Fla., and Julie Jordan (Adam) of Tavares, Fla. Grandchildren: David, Angie, Journey, Breanna.
She married Don Berry in July 1977 and he had two children, Sue Potter (Okawville, Ill.) and Johanna Berry (Hoorne, Netherlands). Grandchildren: Jake, Jennifer and Tyler. Several great grandchildren.
Alice attended Westville High School and retired from Wyman Gordan (Krupp Gerlach) and was one of the first women to be a union secretary for UAW United Autoworkers Union. She was also a successful business woman with many endeavors, including flipping houses, Silver Dollar Tavern and Alices' Donut Shop in Westville, and had a food truck.
She had many friends and was loved by all. True to form she didn't want anyone to miss work or time from their family so she didn't want any services and in lieu of flowers or cards a donation to a charity would be her wish. She wanted her body to be donated to science to help others. Her ashes will be spread with her late husband from the boat they both loved to be out on.
