Alice Lomax, 58, of Danville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 25, 2017.
She was born December 29, 1958, in Danville, Ill., the daughter of Harlan Elliott and Alice Shanks.
She married Charles Lomax on October 20, 1984.
She is survived by her husband, Charles, of 33 years; her son, Corey Lomax; a sister, Carrie Freeland; a nephew, Tad (Tiffany) Freeland; a niece, Erin (Ryan) Wells; two great-nephews; and a great-niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents and a nephew.
Alice loved her family and friends and her many cats. She was a fun and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.
She always kept the family entertained with her stories at family gatherings. She was a member of Lincoln United Methodist Church, now First U.M.C. She enjoyed singing in the choir and doing solos. She had a beautiful voice and a warm, sweet smile.
Alice worked at Terminex, the U.S. Post Office, and she cleaned houses, offices and her church for many years.
A celebration of Alice's life will be at noon Saturday, Nov. 11, at First United Methodist Church, 1400 N. Vermilion, Danville.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking memorials be given to help in her final expenses. Please join Alice's family in sharing memories and pictures at her memorial service.
